MISSION STATEMENT

Arizona Interior Designer Alert is a grassroots group of designers working to ensure your right to practice without the burden of unnecessary and unwanted interior design legislation.  Our goal is to dig out all efforts to regulate the interior design industry in Arizona and around the country and to work through the Legislatures to prevent any and all regulation from becoming law.  AZIDALERT invites YOU to join our fight for economic freedom.

since NH isn't the most agreeable state toward licensure, it was added that we may want to begin with a title act and move inconspicuously toward a practice act within a few years.”   coalition president in New Hampshire

In case you have not heard, there is a very aggressive coalition working to pass legislation which has the potential to gravely affect you and your livelihood as an interior designer.  We want to caution anyone who believes that the new fact sheet for the NCIDQ exam is anything more than a publicity stunt.  Already designers who have applied in the past few months have had their applications denied due to having the “wrong” credentials.  ASID is constantly dancing around trying to come up with “policy” that will give THEM the option to waive the standard requirements….key words here are THEM and OPTION.  Now that there is so much opposition around the country, ASID is looking for ways to appear to be sweetening the pot, so to speak, to assuage the fears of the design community.  We will believe what we see happening rather than what they say will happen.  There is a huge disconnect between those two elements.
